CIF-SS GIRLS BASKETBALL FINALS

DIVISION 3AA

El Dorado (24-7) vs. North Torrance (26-2)

Where, when: Azusa Pacific University, Saturday, 9:30 a.m.

Fan info: Tickets are $13 general admission, $7 students with valid ID and children (3-13). Parking is free.

Live coverage: FoxSports.com Prep Zone

Outlook: It’s not surprising the division’s top two seeds advanced to today’s championship game. Top-seeded North Torrance’s closest postseason meeting was a 28-point win over Royal of Sun Valley in the first round. Since then, the Saxons have cruised past three county teams (Rancho Alamitos, Esperanza and Corona del Mar) by margins of 40, 40 and 30. El Dorado also cruised to its second straight final behind the lethal one-two punch of Jaylin Jones and Brooke Salas. The Golden Hawks’ senior tandem will have to work for their points today as North is limiting opponents to 27 points a game. Jones and Salas are averaging a combined 41.5 points per game this postseason. If Coach Wayne Carlson’s squad can get another player to emerge as a scoring threat – perhaps Miranda Martinez in the post or Jennifer Ventura from beyond the arc – El Dorado will have a legit shot at knocking off a team that has only lost twice this season
