The 5-foot-10, New Mexico State-bound guard appears to be heating up in the final stages of the nonleague season. Salas scored a season-high 27 points Saturday in El Dorado’s 65-58 loss to state-ranked Vista Murrieta and had 22 points the night before against Duarte. She’s still slightly behind Golden Hawks leading scorer Jaylin Jones (19.6 points per game) at 17.2, but is gaining ground with 22 point or more in three of El Dorado’s last four games. In El Dorado’s 11 games this season, Salas has had a double-digit scoring figure in all but one.
