This is showdown weekend for Jeremy and Justin Thomas of Calvary Chapel.

The brother tandem will be in action as Calvary Chapel heads to the 39th Annual Doc Buchanan Invitational in Clovis, Friday and Saturday.

They’re both ranked No. 1 at their weights in the state Justin (160) and Jeremy (170) and they’ve both ranked in the top 10 nationally.

“Their development and progress has been steady,” Calvary Chapel coach Jacob Harman said. “I think they’re both on track to win state titles.”

The Thomas Brothers are also scheduled to participate at the Five Counties Invitational, Feb. 15-16 at Fountain Valley HS.

They have only been in action once this season and that was at the Walsh Ironman, where they both finished second in their respective weight classes.

“I was pleased to see how competitive they were on a national level,” Harman said. “Now is just putting on the right polish and finishing touches in order for both of them to finish out the season on top of the pile and achieving their goals of being state champions together this year.”

They both advanced to the finals of last year’s Doc B Invitational.

Calvary Chapel will be taking nine wrestlers to the tournament. Along with the Thomas Brothers, Elijah Palacio (106), Luciano Arroyo (113), Tommy Oropeza (126), Shawn Portillo (132), Johnny Knowles (138), Gabe Collins (152) and Morris Wilner (182) will all be in action.

Other county wrestlers to watch: Ethan Gould (Esperanza); Anthony Le (Laguna Hills), Jacob Gunter (Esperanza); Ethyn Ewing (Canyon); Tyler Meisinger (San Clemente), Phillip Zamora (Laguna Hills); Kyle Marshall (San Clemente).
