OCVarsity has the pairings and analysis for all of the CIF-SS girls basketball divisions.

DIVISION 1AA

Top four seeds: 1. Redondo; 2. Orange Lutheran; 3. Los Alamitos; 4. Canyon/Canyon Country

Playoff dates: First round (Feb. 16), Second round (Feb. 18), Quarterfinals (Feb. 22), Semifinals (Feb. 25), Championship game (March 3 or 4).

CONNOLLY’S COMMENTS:  With 14 teams being plucked out of the division and placed into the Open Division, a trio of county schools have an opportunities to make a lengthy run. … Second-seeded Orange Lutheran – which has won two straight CIF-SS titles – and third-seeded Los Alamitos are championship-caliber clubs for different reasons. The Lancers have the pedigree and defensive chops to make it back to championship weekend. The Griffins have star power in sophomore phenom Cailyn Crocker who can dominate the game in just about every facet and is capable of single-handedly winning games. She’s a rare talent, but with just one senior on the roster, Los Al’s young core to will need to minimize the mistakes that burn youth-infused squads in one-and-done scenarios. … Sonora drew a first-round matchup with a Cajon team that won a state championship last season. If Meghann Henderson and the Raiders are able to survive that game, they’ll be a threat on the top half of the bracket.

All games 7 p.m. unless noted.
