OCVarsity has the pairings and analysis for all of the CIF-SS boys basketball divisions.

DIVISION 1A

Top four seeds: 1. Harvard-Westlake; 2.Pasadena; 3. Los Altos; 4. La Canada.

O.C. teams in this division: Tesoro (16-10); Canyon (16-11); Huntington Beach (17-11); San Clemente (19-8); Corona del Mar (20-7); El Toro (18-9).

Playoff dates: First round (Feb. 15), Second round (Feb. 17), Quarterfinals (Feb. 21), Semifinals (Feb. 24), Championship game (March 3 or 4).

FRYER’S OUTLOOK: This division gives us an attractive Orange County game in the first round: El Toro at Corona del Mar. El Toro finished fourth in the five-team South Coast League, perhaps the best league with O.C. teams in it outside of the Trinity League. Corona del Mar won the championship of the Pacific Coast League. That’s a game well-rounded Corona del Mar should win. … Canyon is one of the county’s more-improved teams, from December to now. The Comanches got a first-round home game against M.L. King of Riverside. … South Coast League champion San Clemente, if it wins a first-round game against Downey on Wednesday, would have to play at fourth-seeded La Canada in the second round Friday. La Canada received a first-round bye. That’s a tough set up for a league champion like San Clemente.

All games 7 p.m. unless noted.
