Four players from Orange County – Sunny Hills’ Herminio Padilla, Godinez’s Bryan Ibarra, Garden Grove’s Derek Ayala and Santa Margarita’s Natalie Kennedy – were selected as the All-CIF soccer player of the year for their division.
In boys soccer, Padilla was selected the top player in Division 2, while Ibarra received the honor in Division 4 and Ayala in Division 5.
In girls soccer, Kennedy earned the honor in Division 1.
There were four coaches from the county who received the coach of the year award: Sunny Hills’ Mike Schade (Boys, Division 2), Godinez’s Ruben Fernandez (Boys, Division 4), Garden Grove’s Matt Grenert (Boys, Division 5) and Santa Margarita’s Chuck Morales (Girls, Division 1).
The All-CIF teams, which were released Monday, will be available Wednesday night on OCVarsity.com.
