SATURDAY’S CIF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BOYS VOLLEYBALL REGIONALS

At Cerritos College

Fan info: tickets, adults, $12, students (with valid ID) and children (13 and younger), $8; parking, $5.

DIVISION I

HUNTINGTON BEACH (39-0) vs. LOYOLA (30-2)

When: 7:30 p.m.

Outlook: It almost seemed destined that these two would meet in either the CIF-SS or SoCal Regional final. They met in both in 2013 and 2014, and the Oilers won all four matches. They met earlier this season, in the Best of the West Invitational, and the Oilers won in two sets. Loyola lost to Corona del Mar in the CIF-SS Division 1 semifinals. The Cubs defeated Otay Ranch in three sets in the first round of the regional and edged Mira Costa of Manhattan Beach in five sets in the regional semifinal. This is the sixth regional final for the Cubs and the third for the Oilers. (Related: Huntington Beach looks to cap ‘legendary’ run)

DIVISION II

CORONA DEL MAR (30-5) vs. OAK PARK (35-5)

When: 5 p.m.

Outlook: Just like last season, the Sea Kings have an opportunity to end the season with a title. Last year, CdM lost in the CIF-SS Division 1 semifinals and then edged Esperanza for the Division II regional title. CdM has swept Damien of La Verne and Clovis North to advance to tonight’s final. Oak Park defeated Valencia in the CIF-SS Division 2 final last week. The Eagles defeated Laguna Beach in the CIF-SS semifinals.

DIVISION III

LAGUNA BEACH (25-9) vs. SADDLEBACK VALLEY CHRISTIAN (30-4)

When: 3 p.m.

Outlook: The teams met in last year’s final with the Breakers winning in four sets, 25-13, 25-15, 23-25, 25-11. Saddleback Valley Christian won its third consecutive CIF-SS title, sweeping St. Margaret’s in the Division 4 final last week. The Breakers were eliminated in the Division 2 semifinal. Laguna Beach has won four regional titles. Last year was the first regional finals appearance for the Warriors.
