The Register’s O.C. preseason top 10 for 2014-15.

O.C. TOP 10

1. LAGUNA BEACH: The Breakers are the defending Division 1 champion and reigning title holders at the three biggest tournaments.

2. NEWPORT HARBOR: Last season’s Division 1 runner-up returns plenty of senior talent for Coach Bill Barnett’s final season.

3. FOOTHILL: The Knights might be the county’s deepest team as Coach Jim Brumm takes the reins full time.

4. CORONA DEL MAR: National team player Maddie Musselman leads an experienced group that is deep and fast.

5. ORANGE LUTHERAN: The rising Lancers return their core from last season and add green-light transfer Bailey Dillard.

6. LOS ALAMITOS: Coach Brent Danna takes over a squad led by co-captains Karley Kraft and Sarah Siepker.

7. SAN CLEMENTE: The Tritons are the preseason No. 1 in Division 2 but will face plenty of challengers.

8. SANTA MARGARITA: Back-to-back Division 2 champs now reside in Division 1 with goalie Nikki Doumas.

9. EDISON: Coach Diggy Riley’s team features improved depth plus speedy left-hander Delaney Cleveland.

10T. MATER DEI: The Monarchs are looking to reload on the fly in the difficult Trinity League.

10T. ROSARY: Lefty Sabrina Garabet transferred to St. Lucy’s, but the Royals have key returners and newcomers.
