The girls volleyball season will continue for Mater Dei, Aliso Niguel, Sage Hill, St. Margaret’s and Saddleback Valley Christian with the opening round of the CIF State SoCal Regional Championships.

The first round is set for Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

In Division I, Mater Dei (28-11), who lost to Redondo Union in the CIF-SS Division 1AA final, will host Point Loma. Aliso Niguel (28-1), the CIF-SS Division 1A champion, will host Clovis.

Redondo Union is the No. 1 seed in the SoCal regional for Division I.

Saddleback Valley Christian (29-5), St. Margaret’s (24-3) and Sage Hill (19-3) are all in Division III. The Warriors, the 3A champion will be on the road at Bakersfield Christian. St. Margaret’s, the 3AA runners-up to Sage Hill, will travel to La Jolla.

The Lightning will host Verdugo Hills. A potential fourth match between Academy League rivals Sage Hill and St. Margaret’s could take place in the second round.

The second round is set for Saturday with the regional finals taking place Dec. 2. The regional champions will advance to the CIF State finals against the Northern California winner at Santiago Canyon College, Dec. 6.
