The girls volleyball season resumes Tuesday night with the first round of the CIF State Championships.

The county teams participating will first compete in the Southern California Regionals.

Los Alamitos, the CIF-SS Division1AA champion, is the top seed in Division 1. The Griffins will host Granada Hills of the L.A. City Section.

Mater Dei will be on the road, facing Clovis West of Fresno in Division 1.

In Division 2, Whittier Christian will host La Costa Canyon of Carlsbad. The Heralds defeated Mayfield of Pasadena in the CIF-SS Division 2A final Saturday. They are the fourth seed.

Sage Hill is the third seed in Division 3. The Lightning will host Cathedral Catholic of San Diego.

The Lighting defeated Crean Lutheran in the CIF-SS Division 3A final Saturday.

The Saints will be on the road Tuesday against second-seeded Canyon Crest of San Diego.

Saddleback Valley Christian is the second seed in Division 4. The Warriors will host Escondido Adventist.

There are no county teams in Division 5.

The second round is Saturday, with the regional finals set for Dec. 3.

The state championships are Dec. 7 at Santiago Canyon College.
