Outlook: It will be interesting to see if Fairfax has mentally recovered from being held to nine points in the second half of its 47-34 loss to Mater Dei last month. Mater Dei coach Gary McKnight expects his counterpart, Lions coach Harvey Kitani, will have a different offensive game plan to challenge the Monarchs this time. Mater Dei is a little ticked over not making it to the CIF-Southern Section final and has a lot of confidence after regional wins over Westchester of Los Angeles and Bishop Montgomery of Torrance. A talented team with swagger and a chip on its shoulder is tough to beat.
