FRYER’S OUTLOOK: It’s not often that a Garden Grove League team gets a first-round bye in the playoffs. But that happened to league champion Bolsa Grande (20-6). The Matadors won the Garden Grove League championship. … The Garden Grove League’s third-place team, Garden Grove (17-10), plays at Orange League second-place finisher Katella (12-10) in what could be a close first-round game. … Santiago (16-10), the Garden Grove League’s No. 2 team, plays host to Orange Coast No. 3 Costa Mesa (10-17) in the first round. A strong chance exists that the Garden Grove League could have three representatives in the second round.
