2009 All-COUNTY GIRLS LACROSSE SELECTIONS: FIRST TEAM
Elizabeth Cramer, Newport Harbor, attack: Cramer led the Sailors, the No. 6 team in the county, with 41 goals, two assists and 35 groundballs.
Ashley Miller, Beckman, attack: Miller was the most valuable player of the Pacific Coast League. She scored 55 goals and had 50 assists and 92 groundballs for the Patriots.
Natalie Cross, Foothill, attack: Cross, the team captain, helped the Knights reach the county championship game. The senior had 47 goals, 30 assists and 56 groundballs.
Hayden Furey, Sage Hill, midfield: The junior led the team with 54 goals, six assists and 50 groundballs.
Shaina Denny, Los Alamitos, midfield: The junior helped the Griffins win the Southern California title, scoring 51 goals with 14 assists and 47 groundballs.
Jacky Craycraft, El Toro, midfield: Craycraft was one of the leaders on the El Toro team which reached the semifinal round of the playoffs against Los Alamitos and wound up tied for second in the county. She scored three goals in the semis.
Jacqueline Paquette, Foothill, midfield: The senior shared most total points honors for the Knights, scoring 47 goals and notching 30 assists. She also had 79 groundballs.
Abbey Messmer, Beckman, midfield: The sophomore was a first-team all-league player, scoring 48 goals with 35 assists and 65 groundballs.
Sara Weber, Tesoro, midfield: Weber scored 66 goals, recording 18 assists and hauling in 57 groundballs. She also had 166 draw controls and forced 23 turnovers.
Anna Maria Carabini, St. Margaret's, defense: Carabini scored 45 goals with 10 assists and 37 groundballs. She also had 21 draw controls.
Lindsey Schmidt-Beck, Los Alamitos, defense: Schmidt-Beck was a key defender on the Griffins' Southern California championship team with 42 groundballs and 46 draw controls. She also had 15 goals and eight assists.
Danica Kristiansen, El Toro, goalie: The sophomore made some key saves for the Chargers. "I have not seen anyone better," said Coach Lee Danbara.
