Servite’s two-time state finalist Liam Cronin signed with Indiana University, Thursday.

Cronin, who was advanced to the CIF State finals  as a junior (106) and senior (113), was The Register’s Wrestler of the Year as a junior. Cronin has been an instrumental figure in Servite’s development as one of the top teams in the county and Southern Section.

He’s a member of a four CIF championships and two CIF runners-up and two Trinity League championship teams.

He’s also earned All-American status and is a three-time Junior Fargo Greco All-American, three-time Junior Fargo Freestyle All-American and a USA Folkstyle Nationals All-American. Cronin has also won a California USA Wrestling Folkstyle State Championship, Junior Fila World Junior Championship and Judo Regional Championship.

“I really connected with the coaching staff and current members of the team,” Cronin said. “I can picture myself fitting in well and am looking to make an impact.”

Cronin had interest a list of schools: Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Arizona St., Cal Baptist and CS Bakersfield.
