Canyon, Guard/Forward, Sr.
He was the CIF-SS Division 2AA player of the year. Among his highlights were his 37 points and 11 assists in Canyon’s amazing comeback victory in the 2AA championship game. The 6-foot-1 Anderson joins older brothers Jerime and Chris as All-County first-team selections.
MJ Cage, Mater Dei
Mater Dei, Center, Jr.
Cage was a Trinity League co-player of the year and All-CIF Open Division first team. He is one of six candidates for state player of the year and, even as a junior, the most highly recruited player in the county. The 6-10 Cage averaged 13.2 points, 11.7 rebounds and 3.8 blocked shots a game.
Jarrett Brodbeck
Esperanza, Guard/Forward, Sr.
Brodbeck was among the county scoring leaders at 21.8 points a game. He also averaged seven rebounds. In the regular-season’s final week, which was crucial to Esperanza’s playoff chances, the 6-5 Brodbeck scored 25 points against Foothill and 22 against Canyon, two teams that would go on to win CIF-SS championships.
Josh Rodriguez
Sonora, Guard, Sr.
Rodriguez was Freeway League and CIF-SS Division 3AA player of the year for the Raiders, who won the 3AA championship. He set school single-season and career records in scoring and assists and averaged 19.6 points a game. The 5-11 Rodriguez will play at Pt. Loma Nazarene.
