Mater Dei water polo players Will Lapkin and Ben Teitscheid have committed to four-year schools, Monarchs boys coach Chris Segesman reports.
Lapkin has committed to St. Francis in New York while Teitscheid pledged to MIT.
Lapkin was a bit of unsung hero for the Monarchs, racking 39 goals, 38 assists and 80 steals as an attacker for the CIF-SS Division 1 champion.
The commitments raise the Monarchs’ class of 2016 college totals to: eight.
Mater Dei’s other commitments: goalie Nolan Strout (Pepperdine), All-County and U.S. national team lefty Thomas Dunstan (USC), All-County lefty Luke Wyatt (USC), defender Eli Lule (Pacific), center Sean Duncan (Princeton) and defender Bennie Seybold (Harvard).
