JSerra quarterback Nick Robinson is forgoing scholarship offers to follow his dream.

The senior, a second-team All-County selection, said Friday he has committed to Georgia, which plays in the powerful Southeastern Conference, as a preferred walk-on.

Robinson (6-foot-2, 195 pounds) holds offers from an FBS school, Florida International, and two FCS schools, San Diego and Lafayette College, but he picked Georgia, which doesn’t have a quarterback commitment in its 2015 recruiting class.

“It has always been my dream to play at the highest level of college football and I’m going to follow my dream,” Robinson said.

Robinson made a recruiting trip to Georgia the weekend of Jan. 16.

The senior was selected co-MVP of the Trinity League with St. John Bosco quarterback Josh Rosen (UCLA). He passed for 2,054 yards and 22 TDs last season to help the Lions earn a No. 1 ranking in Orange County and qualify for the playoffs for the first time.

SERVITE UPDATES

Servite linebacker/defensive end Jack Savage committed to UCLA as a preferred walk-on, ex-Friars coach A.J. Gass said. Savage’s father, John, is the baseball coach at UCLA.

Servite cornerback Kameron Dennis committed to Cal Poly SLO, where his brother, Karlton, will be a senior cornerback in the fall.

“They told me they could possibly offer me late, and I knew if I got it, I would take it,” Kameron said.

LOS ALAMITOS UPDATES

Los Alamitos linebacker Matt Locher, the Register’s 2014 defensive player of the year, was offered by Boise State and was expected to make a recruiting trip to the school this weekend, Griffins coach John Barnes said.

Cal Poly SLO will be among the interested followers. Locher committed to the Mustangs but has continued to draw interest from FBS schools such as Nevada and Fresno State.

Boise State received a commitment from San Clemente All-County linebacker Riley Whimpey, but the senior is delaying his enrollment until 2017 to serve his mission, Tritons coach Jaime Ortiz said.

Los Alamitos wide receiver/tight end Joe Wysocki committed to Idaho, which earlier received a verbal pledge from Griffins running back Denzal Brantley.
