Basalone, an all-Olympic league first team selection in each of the last two seasons and the Heralds team captain, is also highly distinguished in the classroom and in her school and local community. Her classes include: AP Biology, AP Government, AP English, Statistics, and World Views. She is also taking History 110A for college credit at Cal State Fullerton. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the California Scholastic Federation, the National Youth Leadership Forum, and the Dean’s Student Advisory Board. Basalone volunteers for Hope Lifted, a county organization that helps to provide needed services for the homeless. She has volunteered for the homeless in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Among the colleges she is considering are: Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, UC Santa Barbara, UCLA, USC, Wake Forest, and Boston College.
