Michael Anderson, the girls basketball coach for Arroyo Valley High of San Bernardino, said Wednesday night that he has been suspended for two games by the school as a result of the Hawks’ 161-2 nonleague victory over Bloomington on Jan. 5.

Anderson did not coach Arroyo Valley in its 80-19 win over Indian Springs of San Bernardino on Wednesday. He said he will also miss the Hawks’ game at San Gorgonio San Bernardino on Friday, but will be back for the school’s MLK Day event Monday.

Anderson’s son, Nicholas, coached the Hawks on Wednesday night. Anderson said he spent his evening watching fellow league member Fontana Jurupa Hills play his former program, Rialto.

The lopsided score of the Bloomington win sparked controversy over sportsmanship and fairness and Anderson has been under some fire since the game.
