Bob Johnson inducted into state coaches Hall

Mission Viejo football coach Bob Johnson was inducted in the California Coaches Association Hall of Fame at an induction event Saturday.

Johnson has coached Mission Viejo to five CIF-Southern Section championships, including this past season in which the Diablos also won a CIF State championship. He coached El Toro to three CIF-SS titles. 

Also honored at the event was Sheri Ross, former athletic director at El Toro who has held positions at the CIF-SS and CIF State offices. She received the Dan Fukushima Lifetime Achievement Award. Chuck Morales of Santa Margarita was named state girls soccer coach of the year. Blake Corbin of Laguna Hills was named state girls water polo coach of the year.
