In the CIF-SS Division 6 semifinal on Tuesday:
Savanna 9, Sierra Canyon of Chatsworth 0: The Rebels advanced to their second consecutive CIF championship game with another dominant performance, shutting out the visiting Trailblazers in Thursday’s semifinals.
Junior pitcher Shyanne Fennell tossed a three-hit shutout, and received 15 hits from a lineup that continues to produce. Jezabelle Quintana and Kristin Worley each went 3 for 4, Fennell contributed a pair of base hits, and Sam Kennedy knocked in two runs with a pair of doubles.
The Rebels scored runs in all six of their at-bats.
Savanna (30-2-1) will face off in the final with top-seeded Paraclete (27-0) for the second consecutive year. The Spirits topped the Rebels, 9-2, in last year’s finale, and will enter this weekend’s rematch on a 47-game win streak.
