Los Alamitos senior Eyassu Worku and Mater Dei sophomore Spencer Freedman today were named to the All-CIF Southern Section’s Open Division team.
The selections are made by the Southern California Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association. Freedman and Worku were the only Orange County players named to the Open Division team.
Other O.C. honorees are Dewit Wilson (El Toro), Chandler White (Tesoro), Nate Matthews (Edison) and Randall Walker (Edison) on the 2A team; Kezie Okpala (Esperanza) on 3AA; Isaac Douglass (Yorba Linda), Sam Korbrine (Corona del Mar) and Zamir Kelly (Ocean View) on 3A; Sebastian Much (JSerra) and Blake Burzell (Laguna Beach) on 4AA; Michael Bagatourian (Crean Lutheran) on 4A; Trey Smith (Saddleback Valley Christian) on 5AA; Amazon Nwoye (Capistrano Valley Christian), Spider Adentunji (Capistrano Valley Christian) and Uriel Batista (Orangewood Academy) on 5A.
