Aliso Niguel athletic director Mike Middlebrook has been hired as an assistant commissioner of athletics for the CIF Southern Section.

Middlebook replaces Brandi Stuart, who left to become a senior associate athletic director at Central Florida University.

“Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position, along with a strong commitment to supporting student-athletes through education-based athletics,” Commissioner of Athletics Rob Wigod said in a statement released by the CIF-SS. “We look forward to the many contributions he will make in service to our member schools and to our organization as a whole.”

Middlebrook served as athletics director at Aliso Niguel since 1996. He also served as league coordinator for 14 years for the South Coast, Sea View and Pacific Coast Leagues and was  coordinator for the Coast View Athletic Association.

Middlebrook was as an assistant varsity football coach at Aliso Niguel and Capistrano
Valley as well as assistant girls basketball coach and head coach of the Wolverines’ golf program. He taught social studies and physical education at the school.

“I am extremely excited and elated to accept the position,” said Middlebrook. “I believe I can
do fabulous things working with an outstanding team.”
