Best was a four-year varsity player. She helped the Mustangs capture the CIF Division 6 title in 2013 and finish as the CIF Division 6 runner-up this season. She scored 77 goals and added 50 assists this season and was All-CIF as a junior. She has been accepted at Chapman, San Diego State, Loyola Marymount and Cal Poly SLO, and is waiting to hear from several other schools. Her classes include AP physics, AP calculus BC, AP macro economics, AP U.S. government and AP German. Best is president of the German Club. She also is a four-year varsity swimmer and school record-holder in the 100-yard backstroke and 200 individual medley. She was a camp counselor at Adventure Playground in Yorba Linda during the summer.
