The Whittier Christian boys golf team, which posted a 3.85 GPA, has been selected as State Academic Team Champions, CIF officials announced on Wednesday.
The Heralds were the only Orange County team selected in the 32 porgrams that are eligible for the award, and will receive a banner to display in their school gym.
Initiated in 1996, the programs serves as a way to honor the teams with the highest collective grade-point-averages, based on an unweighted 4.0 scale.
