Rosoff powers Sage Hill to close victory

ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER

Robbie Rosoff passed for 180 yards and three touchdowns to lead Sage Hill to a 21-16 victory over Escondido Charter (1-2) on Friday in a nonleague contest at Orange Glen High in San Diego.

After jumping to a 14-0 halftime lead, the Lightning was outscored, 16-7, in the second half but escaped with the win.

Vince Whetmore had seven receptions and finished with 124 receiving yards and two touchdowns for Sage Hill. Will Burns also caught a touchdown pass and had 48receiving yards.

Beau Roth had 24 carries and 96 rushing yards for the Lightning (2-2).

In other nonleague games:

Liberty Christian 38, Valley Christian of Santa Maria 20: Jack Gallagher ran for 198 yards and had two rushing touchdowns as the host Minutemen (2-1) defeated Valley Christian (2-1) at Murdy Park.

Capistrano Valley Christian 21, Linfield Christian of Temecula 7: The Eagles (4-0) remained undefeated on the season as they were victorious at Linfield Christian (2-2).

In its four games, Capistrano Valley Christian has outscored its opponents, 173-17.
