In boys basketball highlights Monday:

In the North/South Challenge:

No. 8 Edison 75, No. 6 Saddleback Valley Christian 56: The Chargers (9-3) did their share-the-ball, shoot-the-ball thing as well as ever in a victory over the Warriors (6-2) at El Toro High.

The Chargers’ Brae Ivey scored 16 points with four 3-pointers and Jake Haar scored 12 with four 3s in the matchup of Orange County top-10 teams. Randall Walker scored 10 points and Garrett White scored eight with seven rebounds.

On many of Edison’s baskets, at least four Chargers touched the ball before a shot was taken.

“Everyone plays unselfishly,” Ivey said. “We play for each other and for our school. We trust in everyone to shoot the ball and share the ball.”

An Ivey 3-pointer started the second quarter to give Edison an 18-15 lead. The Chargers grew the lead from there. They had an eight-point advantage at halftime and took an 18-point lead into the fourth quarter.

Eric Rhahwire led Saddleback Valley Christian with 18 points.

In other North/South Challenge results Monday (player of the game in parentheses): Laguna Beach 78, Ocean View 54 (Isaac Wulff, Laguna Beach); Godinez 58, Irvine 46 (Brandon Smith, Godinez); Aliso Niguel 54, La Habra 33 (Cadrall Lumanlan, Aliso Niguel).; St. Margaret’s 70, Westminster 48 (Brent Cahill, St. Margaret’s); and Los Alamitos 57, Mission Viejo 40 (Eyassu Worku, Los Alamitos).

The North/South Challenge at El Toro concludes on Tuesday. Among the matchups is San Clemente vs. Corona del Mar at 6 p.m., and Woodbridge vs. No. 4 Foothill at 7:30 p.m.
