Palacios powers Century past Saddleback

Special to OCVarsity.com

SANTA ANA – Abraham Palacios carried his team Friday night as he led the Century Centurions to a 33-6 victory over the visiting Saddleback Roadrunners at Santa Ana Stadium.

Palacios took advantage of some big holes, rambling 14 times for 170 yards and three touchdowns.

"He worked real hard for this and took advantage of great  blocking," said Century coach Jesse Gomez. "It was a great overall team effort and I’m really happy for my guys."

The Centurions scored on their first play as Tony Santana connected with Johnny Sok on a 98-yard pass thrown from his own end zone.

Century finished with 325 yards rushing and improved to 2-2 overall.

The Roadrunners showed life in the second quarter when they blocked a punt deep in Century territory, but were unable to take advantage, fumbling at the Century 7.
