OCVarsity preview for the 2015 season:

CENTURY CENTURIONS

Coach: Andrew Lapic

Last season: 1-9 overall, 0-5 league

Scouting report: With seven seniors projected to be in the starting lineup, the defense will likely be the Centurions’ strength. Ruben Triscareno and Mike Soria return at linebacker. Last fall, Triscareno led the team with 81 tackles and Soria finished with 47 tackles and two sacks. Lapic said Soria is one of the team’s best pass rushers. Juan Agustin, called the Centurions’ best athlete by Lapic, will start at free safety after finishing 2014 with 47 tackles and three interceptions. The Centurions have 10 seniors set to start on offense, including Jim Gutierrez, who rushed for 308 yards and two touchdowns last season.

Bottom line: The Centurions have enough talent, experience and leadership to win a few games in league, but they can’t afford injuries given their lack of depth.

Players to watch: Juan Agustin, RB/FS, Sr.; Jim Gutierrez, RB, Sr.; Taylor Manuma, DE, Jr.; Adrian Martinez, QB, Sr.; Antonio Moran, DT, Jr.; Hector Nava, WR, Sr.; Mike Soria, RB/MLB, Sr.; Ruben Triscareno, MLB, Sr.
