Goalkeeper Sami Hill made 16 saves and Melissa Seidemann, Courtney Mathewson (Canyon) and Kiley Neushul combined for seven goals as the U.S. women’s water polo team defeated Australia, 10-6, to capture the FINA World Cup in Russia.

Team USA won the tournament for the second consecutive time, adding to its  World Cup titles in 1979 and 2010.

The U.S. team also included Annika Dries (Laguna Beach), Rachel Fattal (Los Al), Kaleigh Gichrist (Newport Harbor), Alys Williams (Edison) and Jillian Kraus (Foothill).
