Capistrano Valley and Mission Viejo Nadadores diver Cami Hidalgo, the three-time defending CIF-SS Division 1 champion, has committed to Georgia Tech, the senior said Thursday night.
"I loved the team and coach as well as how much emphasis they played on academics," Hidalgo said in a direct message on Twitter.
"Also, I'm planning on majoring in engineerring so it seemed like the perfect choice."
Hidalgo competed last summer at the U.S. Olympic Trials and has been part of USA Diving's Tier II High Performance Squad.
She dove at World junior championships in 2012 and 2014 and eaned a bronze earlier this year at the Dresden International Youth Diving Meet in Germany.
