Outlook: Canyon won the 2AA title last year. It might have seemed unlikely going into the playoffs that the Comanches would return to the championship game, but here they are – a team that qualified as an at-large team after losing by 16 points to Esperanza in the regular-season finale. After opening with a road win against Oak Hills of Hesperia, Canyon won three consecutive home games to reach the finals. Nick Anderson, a 6-foot-1 senior, is averaging team highs of 17 points and seven rebounds a game. His brothers Chris and Jerime were All-County players at Canyon. Chandler Dignam, a 6-3 senior, is averaging 13 points and six rebounds. Jordan Rohan is scoring 10 points a game for the Comanches, who are a good outside-shooting team. Lawndale was seeded fourth going into the playoffs. The Cardinals finished second to Beverly Hills in the Ocean League standings.
