It was quite the week for Canning, who posted 15 strikeouts in nine innings pitched last week. Thirteen of those strikeouts came in an eight-inning shutout of Mater Dei in a 1-0 Eagles win. Canning recorded a save against Servite on Friday, when he pitched the seventh inning and struck out two batters to seal a 2-1 victory, which pushed Santa Margarita into second place in the Trinity League.
