Burkhardt ran the best time for any county boy at the Laguna Hills Invitational on Saturday. He won the Division 3 junior boys race with a time of 15:21. Burkhardt’s mark was the second-best time of the day by any boy on the three-mile course, just two seconds behind the overall leader.
