Touted junior wide receivers Taariq Johnson from Hawkins of Los Angeles and Victor Bates of Lakewood have enrolled at Buena Park, Coyotes football coach Anthony White confirmed Monday.

Johnson (6-3, 220), who also plays linebacker, played for the Coyotes last week against Western. He reportedly holds offers from Notre Dame, Michigan, Miami and Baylor, among others.

Bates (6-0, 175) began classes at Buena Park on Monday and was expected to practice, White said. He has been offered by Oregon State, White said.

Football fans might also recognize Bates’ name from a recent incident between Lakewood and Long Beach Millikan. He was kicked in the face when his helmet flew off during the game.

Buena Park opens Freeway League play Friday at Fullerton in a duel of 4-1 teams.

More info to come.
