Kennedy dominated by Vista Murrieta

Special to OCVarsity.com
MURRIETA – The Vista Murrieta Broncos dominated the Kennedy Fighting Irish on both sides of the ball Friday night, defeating them 31-3 in a non-league matchup at Vista Murrieta High.

Both teams got off to slow starts by exchanging field goals in the first quarter, then Broncos running back Bradley Randle scored on a 4-yard touchdown run to put the Broncos up 10-3 lead.

A possession later, Broncos sophomore quarterback Derrick Brown connected with junior Casey Marquez with a 30-yard lob into the end zone, putting the Broncos up 17-3 at the half.

“We are a work in progress offensively,” Bronco coach Coley Candaele said. “Every week it’s going to be that way. Our defense and special teams are going to have to carry us until the offense gets rolling.”

The Broncos Randle opened the third quarter with a 95-yard kickoff return.
