OCVarsity preview for the 2015 season:
SAN JUAN HILLS STALLIONS
Coach: Aaron Flowers
Last season: 4-7 overall, 1-3 league
Scouting report: Senior quarterback Patrick O’Brien, all-league first team last season, committed to Nebraska during an attention-getting offseason. Jacob Huff had 64 catches for 746 yards and six touchdowns in 2014. O’Brien will work behind an experienced offensive line that has four returning starters. Defensive lineman Jason Glass and linebacker Tim Newman were all-league last year. Otherwise, the Stallions have several new faces on defense. Coach Aaron Flowers would like to limit the number of two-way players San Juan Hills needs. To reach that goal, many new players will have to prove early that they deserve to start.
Bottom line: With O’Brien and a veteran offensive line, San Juan Hills should be fine offensively, but the defense might not be as good.
Players to watch: Jared Aviles, OL/DL, Sr.; Jason Glass, OL/DL, Jr.; Jacob Huff, WR, Jr.; Tim Newman, LB, Sr.; Patrick O’Brien, QB, Sr.
