Segerstrom High officials named Brandon Rogers as the school’s new boys basketball coach Wednesday afternoon.

Rogers replaces Adrian Gomez, who resigned after 10 seasons. Gomez started the Segerstrom program in 2005.

Rogers is a graduate of Santa Ana Valley. He played basketball at Irvine Valley College and Menlo College.

His past coaching experiences include stints at Mt. Carmel, Los Alamitos and Godinez, according to Segerstrom athletic director Nick Canzone.

“We are very excited to have Brandon on board,” Canzone said. “Brandon is very charismatic and positive, and he has deep ties to the Santa Ana community. He is a great role model for our student-athletes.”
