In the CIF-SS boys basketball playoffs on Friday night.

In second-round games:

In Division 1A:

Corona del Mar 68, Dominguez 58: Dennis Rodman Jr. scored a career-high 40 points and the Sea Kings rallied with a 47-point second half at Dominguez.

Corona del Mar (22-7) trailed by 19 points in the second quarter and was down 37-21 at halftime. A 22-9 third quarter pulled the Sea Kings within 46-43 and they finished off the Dons with a 25-12 fourth.

Rodman, a sophomore, made five 3-pointers. Kevin Kobrine added 14 points for the Sea Kings, who will be home against Pasadena on Tuesday.

In Division 2AA:

Buena Park 53, Newport Harbor 45: The Coyotes broke a tie with two 3-pointers in the last two minutes and held on to win at Newport Harbor.

Cedric Dashiel scored 21 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer, and Gianni Michael hit another 3 after a Newport Harbor miss to put the Coyotes up by six. After another miss, Newport Harbor had to foul and Buena Park iced the victory at the free-throw line.

“It was a great game,” said Newport Harbor assistant coach Jason Carey. “Great atmosphere, great crowd.”

Robert Corner added 13 points and Gianni finished with eight for Buena Park (25-5), which advanced to Tuesday’s quarterfinals against Cajon.

Brad Siegel scored 16 points to lead Newport Harbor (17-13). Collin Pipkin added eight points, seven rebounds and six assists, and Sam Barela grabbed eight rebounds.

In Division 2A:

Aliso Niguel 61, Knight 60: The Wolverines shook off a five-hour bus ride in the rain and a 10-0 deficit in the opening minutes to beat the Hawks in Palmdale.

Lucas Parks had 15 points and Dylan Dickerson scored 12 on four 3-pointers as Aliso Niguel (19-11) advanced to Tuesday’s quarterfinals at Rancho Christian of Temecula.

“We lost the coin flip, so we’re road warriors again,” said assistant coach Tom Rich.

The Wolverines were down by eight points with two minutes left but rallied with a 3-pointer by Ethan Reed and a steal and another 3 by Nick Hlousek. Parks’ steal and basket gave the Wolverines their first lead since the first quarter, and Reed hit two free throws to go up by three.
