There were great plays, big celebrations and a few tears for the Orange County teams and athletes competing on what is commonly called Championship Saturday – the day when titles are up for grabs in boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer and boys wrestling.

The action started in the morning, with the Orange Lutheran and Sonora girls basketball teams playing in the CIF-SS Division 3AA championship game, and continued throughout the night, ending with Edison’s boys basketball team playing for the 2AA title at Honda Center.
