The Freeway League boys basketball race got off to an exciting start Tuesday night as Buena Park took on Sonora in a battle that featured two teams ranked in the county top 10.

Sonora won the game, 77-64. The Raiders held a slim lead at halftime, 36-35, but pulled away in the third quarter.
Forward Austin Carter finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds for Sonora. Marlow and Sean Murphy scored 16 apiece for the Raiders.
