A roundup of softball highlights from Tuesday:

No. 10 Santa Margarita 3, Aliso Niguel 2: Junior pitcher Paige Vargas struck out six batters in a complete game effort, but it was her three-run home run in the sixth inning that proved to be the difference in the Eagles’ come-from-behind victory.

Aliso Niguel third baseman Gen Brittingham went 2-for-2 at the plate and scored one of two Wolverines runs in the bottom of the fourth. 

Yorba Linda 4, Fountain Valley 3: Nicole Martinez provided what would be the game-winning RBI single in the top of the seventh inning, breaking a 3-3 tie and giving the Mustangs a road victory over the host Barons. Martinez finished 2-for-3, while Sarah Ruggles was 2-for-4 with a solo home run. 

Anaheim 10, Buena Park 9: Colonists senior Marissa Ureno belted a grand slam in the bottom of the fourth inning, helping Anaheim build an 8-1 lead it was able to hold onto late against the visiting Coyotes.

Ureno finished 2-for-3 at the plate with four RBI, while sophomore third baseman Melanie Cervantes was 1-for-3 with a three-run homer.

Fountain Valley’s Madeline Domingo tied the game at 3-3 with a two-run shot in the fifth.

In the Coach Takk Classic: 

No. 9 Rosary 9, Troy 6: The Royals overcame a five-run deficit with a three-run run sixth and a six-run seventh inning to spoil the Warriors upset bid. With the game tied 5-5 in the seventh.

Rosary senior Caroline Dame blasted a dramatic two-out grand slam to give the Royals its first lead of the afternoon. Dame finished with five RBI. Sarah Ellersick and Sydney Markos also went yard for Rosary.
