The Tony Matson Memorial girls basketball tournament will be played Saturday at Orange Lutheran. Five of the teams in Orange County top 10 will take part.
The schedule: Rosary vs. Esperanza, noon; No. 3 Foothill vs. Bishop Amat of La Puente, 1:30 p.m.; No. 6 Orange Lutheran vs. No. 2 Brea Olinda, 3 p.m.; and No. 1 Mater Dei vs. No. 7 Fairmont Prep, 4:30 p.m.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students and $3 for children 12 and younger.

Tickets for the Nike Extravaganza, which will be played Feb. 6 and 7 at Mater Dei, are on sale weekdays at the school’s athletic ticket window. Sales are cash only. Prices: $12 for general admission on Feb. 6 and for the Feb. 7 morning session; and $12 for general admission and $22 for reserved seating for the Feb. 7 evening session.

Brethren Christian retired the number of former center Mamadou Ndiaye. The 7-foot-6 Ndiaye, who is now at UC Irvine, was an All-CIF and All-Orange County pick at Brethren.
