O.C. teams in this division: Cypress (18-8); Woodbridge (14-13); Buena Park (22-5); Yorba Linda (15-13); Villa Park (20-5); Tustin (18-8).
Playoff dates: First round (Feb. 15), Second round (Feb. 17), Quarterfinals (Feb. 21), Semifinals (Feb. 24), Championship game (March 3 or 4).
FRYER’S OUTLOOK: This division has two high-quality Orange County games in the first round. Woodbridge, which finished third in the Pacific Coast League, plays at Cypress, which finished second to Tustin in the Empire League. Cypress is the more skilled team of the two. Yorba Linda, an at-large out of one of the county’s better leagues, the Crestview League, plays at Buena Park, the No. 2 team from the Freeway League that was also a good league this season. Buena Park is the more skilled team of those two. … Villa Park, which went undefeated as expected in the North Hills League, is seeded third and has a first-round bye. The Spartans on Friday would play at home in the second round against the Westlake-Perris winner.
