SANTA ANA – Anaheim left Santa Ana Stadium on Friday night with a convincing 28-6 victory over Santa Ana in a nonleague game.

The Colonists (2-0) struck first when quarterback Brandon Lopez connected with receiver Robert Barajas for a 23-yard touchdown pass on fourth down late in the first quarter.

Santa Ana (1-1) scored right before halftime as senior running back Danny Perez scrambled into the end zone from 31 yards out, but the Saints failed on their PAT.

Following the half, Anaheim scored on its first drive and never looked back.

Up 21-6 with 8:14 left in the game, Anaheim’s running back Joel Montes de Oca scored on a 29-yard run to close out the scoring for the Colonists.

Barajas finished with two receiving touchdowns and 70 passing yards, and teammate Montes de Oca rushed for two touchdowns.

Santa Ana quarterback Jonathan Briseno carried the ball 23 times for a total of 145 yards.
