Trabuco Hills promoted John Abdelnour to head coach of the school’s football team, the school announced Wednesday.
Abdelnour was Trabuco Hills offensive coordinator last season. He also has been quarterbacks coach there.
Abdelnour, a math teacher at Trabuco Hills, replaces Joe Silvey who resigned after the 2015 season, Silvey’s only season as head coach.
Abdelnour, who played quarterback at El Toro, also has coached at El Toro and JSerra.
Trabuco Hills finished 3-8 overall and 2-2 in the Sea View League in 2015. The Mustangs won a CIF-Southern Section championship in 2014.
