Meet O.C.’s top high school athletes for 2014-15

Clay Feagler of Dana Hills was the Register's boys golfer of the Year.

Newport Harbor's Reese Stalder was the Register's boys tennis player of the year.

Woodbridge's Gabe Warner was the Register's boys track and field athlete of the year.

Tesoro distance runner Amanda Gehrich was the Register's girls track and field athlete of the year.

The Register's Orange County swimmers of the year were Santa Margarita's Katie McLaughlin, left, and Grant Shoults.

Santa Margarita's Katie McLaughlin was the Register's girls swimmer of the year.

Santa Margarita's Grant Shoults was the Register's boys swimmer of the year.

Foothill's Julia Taylor was the Register's girls lacrosse player of the year.

Sam Darnold, a two-sport standout at San Clemente, was selected the Register's Orange County Boys Athlete of the Year for 2014-15. He led the Tritons to the Southwest Division football title game, and he was the South Coast League co-MVP in basketball.

St. Margaret's Ryan Harnisch was the Register's boys lacrosse player of the year.

Huntington Beach's TJ DeFalco was the Register's boys volleyball player of the year.

Mission Viejo's Alyssa Palomino was the Register's player of the year in softball.

Taylor McQuillin, one of many standouts on Mission Viejo's softball team, was the Register's pitcher of the year.
