SAN JUAN HILLS STALLIONS

Coach: Aaron Flowers (fourth year, 17-15)

Last season: 10-2 overall, 4-0 league

Scouting report: The Stallions were Sea View League champions last year. They are picked to finish last in the South Coast League this year in a poll of league coaches. That says a lot about the differences between the Coast View Conference’s two leagues, the Sea View and South Coast. San Juan Hills returns seven starters, which is not a lot. But there are many other returnees who, although they weren’t starters, did play significant minutes in 2013. Mike Miscione rushed for 833 yards and 13 touchdowns last year. Kolton McCluskey had 30 catches for 504 yards and two touchdowns. Guard Jake Nelson is a three-year starter. Linebackers Tim Newman and Jacob Venegas had 131 tackles between them last season. So there are many Stallions who can play. It’s just that they have to play in a stronger league this year.
