Here is the first-team offense:

Offensive player of the year

Josh Webb

Garden Grove

5-11, 172, Sr.

All-purpose

Highlights: Webb did it all for the Argonauts. The Garden Grove League MVP was a dual-threat quarterback, receiver, cornerback and explosive returner. The senior scored a county-leading 38 TDs and 241 points. He also dived into the end zone for a TD and 2-point conversion to help Garden Grove claim the CIF Southern Division title with a 31-30 victory against Beckman. Webb rushed for 1,506 yards and also had 46 receptions for 937 yards. He passed for 424 yards. Webb is considering attending two-time defending national champion Mt. SAC and Santa Ana College.

Adam Young

Santa Margarita

6-2, 180, Sr.

Quarterback

Highlights: Young had a breakout season as a first-year starter. The first-team All-Trinity League pick completed 63.3 percent of his passes for 1,935 yards, 19 TDs and had only three interceptions. Young's completion percentage broke the school record of 63 percent set by the legendary Carson Palmer in 1997. Two of Young's most accurate games were an 11-for-12 effort against Edison in the Pac-5 playoffs and a 14-of-16 showing against Tesoro. He also finished as the Eagles' second-leading rusher with 584 yards and 10 TDs. He rushed for 142 yards in a victory against Los Alamitos.

Dallas Kessman

Mission Viejo

5-10, 190, Sr.

Running back

Highlights: The hard-charging Kessman returned with vengeance from a knee injury in 2009. The South Coast League MVP rushed for 1,683 yards “ the county-high for a running back in the Pac-5 Division “ and 25 TDs. In the Pac-5 final, he rushed for 102 yards and two TDs against Servite. His best game may have been at San Clemente. Kessman racked up a season-high 234 yards and three TDs and also passed for a score. He has attracted recruiting interest from Cornell, Northern Colorado and Air Force among others.

Tyler Siudzinski

Tustin

5-10, 174, Jr.

Running back

Highlights: Siudzinski led Orange County in rushing with 2,142 yards in his first season as the Tillers' featured back. He also rushed for 25 TDs. Selected co-offensive player of the year in Empire League, Siudzinski averaged 10.2 yards per carry. One of his best games came against Orange Lutheran. He rushed for 170 yards and two TDs. He also racked up 222 yards and four TDs against Kennedy. Coach Myron Miller hopes Siudzinski will be even tougher to handle when he adds more weight for 2011.

Malik Felton

Servite

5-7, 170, Sr.

Running back

Highlights: The speedy Felton started the season as a slot receiver. But after the Friars sustained multiple injuries at running back, he emerged as the featured ball carrier and made the most of the opportunity. In five Trinity League games, he erupted for 745 yards and eight TDs en route to be selected co-MVP of the league. In the Pac-5 Division final, Felton rushed for 184 yards and scored four TDs in a victory against Mission Viejo. He finished the season with 1,367 yards and 16 TDs.

Victor Blackwell

Mater Dei

6-1, 190, Sr.

Wide receiver

Highlights: The USC-commit overcame two shoulder injuries to collect 50 receptions for 976 yards. The Trinity League's co-most valuable offensive player averaged 19.5 yards per catch and hauled in 14 TDs. Blackwell had three games with at least 175 yards receiving. He had seven receptions for 175 yards and four TDs against JSerra. He finished his career with 130 receptions and 33 TD catches. He will play for the West in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 8 in San Antonio.

All-County football: Looking behind the scenes

Bryan Keller

Mission Viejo

6-1, 195, Sr.

Wide receiver

Highlights: Keller emerged as an elite Orange County receiver in 2010. One of Alex Bridgford's favorite targets, he hauled in 47 receptions for 1,103 yards and 13 TDs. Keller's 13 TD catches matched the 1988 single-season school record of Eric Ekdahl. The first-team All-South Coast League selection also averaged 23.5 yards per reception. Keller had seven catches for 191 yards against Tesoro and five receptions for 180 yards against Redlands East Valley.

Max Tuerk

Santa Margarita

6-6, 254, Jr.

Offensive lineman

Highlights: Tuerk's play was a huge reason why the Eagles' offense racked up 2,175 yards rushing and another 2,364 yards passing in 2010. Both totals were team single-season highs for the past six seasons. Tuerk was an anchor at tackle and helped the Eagles play a physical style. He was selected the co-most valuable lineman in the Trinity League. Tuerk also play some defense for the Eagles.

Kyle Murphy

San Clemente

6-7, 268, Jr.

Offensive lineman

Highlights: The Tritons' left tackle made life tough for opposing defenses. Blessed with long arms and plenty of strength, he protected quarterback Travis Wilson's blindside and helped the Tritons have an effective ground attack. Murphy was selected first-team All-South Coast League. He has an early offer from Duke but is aiming to land in the Pac-12 Conference.

Austin Maass

Mission Viejo

6-5, 285, Jr.

Offensive lineman

Highlights: The Diablos' left guard helped clear the way for one of the best ground attacks in Orange County. Maass' blocking helped Dallas Kessman break 1,600 yards rushing and Jahleel Pinner crack 1,000. The first-team All-South Coast League pick also gave Alex Bridgford enough time to pass for 2,417 yards. Mission Viejo coach Bob Johnson believes Maass and junior left tackle Colby Cyburt will be Division I-A recruits.

Wyatt Baker

Servite

6-7, 275, Sr.

Offensive lineman

Highlights: The physical right guard helped the Friars' offense push around most opponents. Baker paved space for running back Malik Felton to rush for more than 1,300 yards. He also protected first-year starting quarterback Cody Pittman. Baker was selected first-team All-Trinity League. He also played some defense for the Pac-5 Division champion.

Travis Averill

Servite

6-4, 270, Jr.

Offensive lineman

Highlights: Averill was a rock at left tackle for the Friars. He teamed with guard Troy Niklas to give the Pac-5 champions a powerful left side of the offensive line. The first-team all-Trinity League selection also protected quarterback Cody Pittman's blindside and helped spring runs for running back Malik Felton.

Wes Harris

El Toro

6-1, 195, Sr.

Kicker

Highlights: Harris' huge leg made the field shorter for the Chargers' offense. He booted field goals of 52 and 55 yards against Delaware Valley (Pa.) and added a 51-yarder against Dana Hills and a 50-yarder against Capistrano Valley. "He was pounding them this year," El Toro coach Robert Frith said. Harris also punted for the Chargers. He was selected co-Special Teams Player of the Year in the Sea View League.

Here is the first-team defense:

Defensive player of the year

Matthew Inman

Servite

5-10, 220, Sr.

Linebacker

Highlights: He is the Register's Defensive Player of the Year for 2010. All he does is makes tackles. If an opposing ballcarrier managed to get past the Servite defensive line, they were quickly introduced to Inman, the Trinity League MVP. Inman, a first-team All-County performer last year, helped lead the Friars to become one of most physical defenses in the Pac-5 Division. Inman's great instincts were evident against Mater Dei, as he intercepted two passes and added a tackle for loss in the Friars' victory. Colleges are starting to take interest in Inman, who has received offers to take recruiting trips to Hawaii and Colorado State.

Troy Niklas

Servite

6-6, 255, Sr.

Defensive lineman

Highlights: Last season, Niklas earned first-team Trinity League honors despite missing seven games. This year, a healthy Niklas made opponents wish it was 2009 all over again. A two-way anchor on both lines for the Friars, he makes this team on the defensive side of the ball. His combination of speed and power made things difficult for opposing offenses. Niklas was supposed to play tight end this season, but before the start of the season, Coach Troy Thomas decided to have Niklas play on both lines. He adjusted and earned Trinity League Most Valuable Lineman honors, leading the Friars to a second consecutive CIF-SS Pac-5 Division title. He recorded 14 tackles in the CIF State Open Division loss to De La Salle of Concord. Has narrowed his college choices to Stanford, Notre Dame and USC.

Sean O'Grady

Tesoro

6-3, 235, Sr.

Defensive lineman

Highlights: Tesoro's defense was considered a strength coming into the season, and with O'Grady leading the way, it lived up to the expectations. O'Grady started the season strong with six tackles and 1½ sacks in the first ever "Rumble at the Ranch" showdown with Santa Margarita. Grady, who earned first-team All-South Coast League honors, finished the season with 55 tackles, 11 sacks, five passes defended and three fumble recoveries. O'Grady committed to Arizona State during the summer.

Kyle Zottneck

Los Alamitos

6-2, 253, Sr.

Defensive lineman

Highlights: Zottneck's season started strong with a good performance at the Nike Camp at USC in the summer. In the fall, he was a valuable member of the Griffins' offensive and defensive lines. The two-way lineman makes his first All-County appearance as a defensive lineman. He recorded 69 tackles, six sacks and four pass break-ups. He was selected Sunset League MVP.

Tre Madden

Mission Viejo

6-1, 220, Sr.

Linebacker

Highlights: For the second consecutive year, Madden (USC) earns first-team All-County honors. Despite being slowed by a foot injury, Madden, one of the most versatile players in the county, helped lead the Diablos to become one of the best defensive units in the county. Madden recorded 54 tackles, three sacks and one interception as the Diablos allowed just 12.5 points a game. He was selected South Coast League Defensive MVP. Offensively, Madden rushed for 310 yards and seven touchdowns and completed 13 of 26 passes for 311 yards and two touchdowns.

Butch Pauu

Servite

5-11, 215, Jr.

Linebacker

Highlights: Pauu showed his potential in 2009 when he earned all-sophomore state honors from Cal-Hi Sports. This year, he lived up to that honor. Pauu, known as The Butcher, was selected first-team All-Trinity League for the second consecutive season. Pauu always seemed to be around the ball, delivering a big hit and making life miserable for the opposition. He returned an interception for a touchdown against La Habra (Sept. 17). He turned in one of the best performances in the Pac-5 final as he recorded 10 tackles, one for loss and two pass breakups in the 41-27 victory over Mission Viejo.

Colten Christensen

Santa Margarita

5-8, 174, Sr.

Linebacker

Highlights: Christensen, the heart and soul of the Eagles defense, seemed to figure in on every defensive stop. He was credited with 166 tackles, including four on special teams, one sack, three forced fumbles, one fumble return, three interceptions and eight pass breakups. Christensen, the Trinity League co-Defensive Most Valuable Player, had nine games with at least 10 tackles as the Eagles advanced to the CIF-SS Pac-5 Division semifinals.

Karlton Dennis

Servite

5-9, 180, Sr.

Defensive back

Highlights: Dennis earned second-team all-Trinity League honors last season, his first year at defensive back. This season, he proved to be one of the county's toughest backs and earned Trinity League Most Valuable Defense honors. He intercepted five passes, including one in the Pac-5 final. In one of his finest performances, Dennis held Mater Dei wide receiver Victor Blackwell to two receptions and just 7 yards in the Friars' 21-14 victory. Dennis also intercepted a pass with six tackles vs. Mater Dei. He has been offered a scholarship by Cal Poly SLO.

Mike Sparling

La Habra

6-1, 170, Sr.

Defensive back

Highlights: Sparling intercepted seven passes, and three of them came at the perfect time for the Highlanders. In the CIF-SS Southwest Division second-round playoff game, Sparling picked off a pass. In the semifinals, he recorded two interceptions, including one he returned 30 yards for a touchdown. Sparling, who earned first-team All-Freeway League honors, has committed to SMU. He intercepted 12 passes in his final two seasons for the Highlanders.

Ethan DeSilva

Mission Viejo

6-1, 190, Sr.

Defensive back

Highlights: DeSilva, a big, quick and physical corner, was one of the leaders on the Mission Viejo defensive chart. He recorded 50 tackles and intercepted two passes. He intercepted a pass in Mission Viejo's 42-21 victory over Mater Dei in the Pac-5 semifinals. A three-year starter, DeSilva didn't earn all-league honors as a junior, but he was first-team All-South Coast League this season. He has been offered scholarships by San Jose State and UC Davis.

Parker Norton

Newport Harbor

5-11, 180, Sr.

Defensive back

Highlights: Norton spent a lot of time on the field for the Sailors, playing wide receiver (64 catches, 569 yards, five touchdowns) along with his cornerback duties. He was selected as the Sunset League Defensive Back of the Year. He had 22 tackles, one fumble forced, one fumble recovered and four interceptions. He returned one interception for a touchdown (59 yards against Marina). He is scheduled to take an official recruiting trip to SMU in January.

Diego Mendoza

Tustin

6-1, 170, Sr.

All-purpose

Highlights: Tustin coach Myron Miller called Mendoza the Tillers' MVP. So did the Empire League after the senior claimed that award. "He's my best football player," Miller said during the season. Mendoza was a standout at linebacker and running back and also punted and snapped for the Empire League champion. He even threw a few passes. Mendoza led the county in interceptions with eight, including three in a key league win against Kennedy. Mendoza also rushed for 1,025 yards and 19 TDs.

Connor Loftus

Servite

5-11, 185, Sr.

Punter

Highlights: Loftus' strong leg was a weapon for the Friars in punting and kicking situations. In a Pac-5 Division semifinal victory against Alemany, he booted punts of 68 and 72 yards. He also kicked a county-leading 15 field goals, including 52-yarders against Edison and Santa Margarita. Loftus is ranked No. 7 in Chris Sailer Kicking's Class of 2011 kicker rankings, Loftus didn't miss a field goal inside of 40 yards. He has offers from Michigan and several Ivy League schools among others.
